Palace officially safe

Crystal Palace has been saved by a Consortium of local businessmen after the group finally confirmed that they have agreed deals with the clubs creditors along with the purchase of Selhurst Park from Lloyds Bank. In a statement they said how they would like to thank Lloyds and Brendon Guilfoyle (administrator) and 'will now start the process of rebuilding the club'.

The statement is a huge relief for thousands of Palace fans who in recent weeks were not sure whether they'd have a club to support next season. Hundres of fans protested at Selhurst Park and the following day outside Lloyds Headquarters in London last week in order to show how important the club was to them.

Having survived relegation and now successfully escaped liquidation, the club is looking to move forwards and maintain a secure financial situation so its not facing administration in the future. Palace are lined up to play Chelsea on the 17th July 2010 so get down to Selhurst Park and support them (info here http://www.cpfc.co.uk/).

Here's to survival!
