OFFICIAL England Squad Announced!

So the squad for the 2010 World Cup England Team has finally been announced by Fabio Capello

TALKING POINTS

STEPHEN WARNOCK- Got the nod ahead of in-form Leighton Baines. Has has a good season for Villa but spurs supporters especially will feel shocked that Baines has missed out

Verdict: Baines should be going but vey unlikely Warnock will even feature (only if Cole gets injured)

SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS- Everyone thought Theo Walcott was going. Personally, I don't rate SWP and it is even more odd when you consider Adam Johnson has taken his place in the Man City team

Verdict: Think Fabio has got it wrong not taking Walcott or Johnson instead of Dead-end merchant SWP. Has not been in good form recently

EMILE HESKEY- Will count himself lucky to be on the plane. Simple facts are that he has scored 3 goals this season and was the 103rd top scorer in English Football this year, Darren Bent was 3rd

Verdict: It is unlikely he will start, since Coruch is favourite to start with Rooney, so Fabio would be better off taking someone who can come on and score goals (Bent)

MATTHEW UPSON- Not a suprise choice but some would argue that Dawson has been more impressive, in form and has just achieved Champions League football whereas Upson narrowly avoided relegation

Verdict: Upson is fairly reliable but Dawson is unlucky to miss out (there's a group set up trying to get Upson to call his son 'chin')

MICHAEL CARRICK- Has not been in great form and was poor against Mexico. Parker and Huddlestone have had strong ends to the season so will be disappointed at their exclusion

Verdict: If Carrick can find form then it will be a good move by Fabio but he lacks Huddlestone's pace and strength

FULL 23 MAN SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Green, James, Hart
Defenders: Terry, Ferdinand, A Cole, Johnson, Warnock, Carragher, King, Upson

Midfielders: Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, J Cole, Lennon, Milner, Carrick, Wright-Phillips

Strikers: Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Heskey

10 days until the start of the World Cup

I'm excited
